Context: Transport for NSW’s Draft Central West and Orana Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plan (SRITP) provides a 20-year vision and defines the key transport priorities for the region to support community, land use and transport needs, now and into the future. This paper was submitted to Transport for NSW in November 2025 as part of their public consultation process.
Our Position: Destination Central West supports the strategic direction of the SRITP but urges stronger recognition of the region’s visitor economy, cycle tourism strengths, access challenges from Sydney, freight‑visitor safety interactions, and the transformative potential of the Western Sydney International Airport. We welcome continued collaboration with Transport for NSW to ensure the plan fully captures these opportunities.
